At long last, First Refuge will begin to provide adult medical care for indigent residents of Denton County on May 20.
In preparation for this new service, clients who come to First Refuge on May 4 will be offered free blood pressure checks, glucose testing, and peak flow and oxygen levels. Any clients with irregularities in these areas will and who have no health care provider will be offered a medical clinic appointment.
The medical clinic needs: medical assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, physician assistants, patient screeners, dispensary (medicine dispensing, inventory and ordering) and advocates and prayer partners for visits.
If you can help in any of these areas, even once a month for just a few hours, please contact Brenda Eckel, Clinic Coordinator at 940.484.4384.
